You can call Spectrum 855-507-6769, and say “disconnect”. It should then transfer you to the customer retention department which is the key as the “normal support” people will do nothing for you.
Then you tell them you want to disconnect as you are thinking about switching to AT&T as their prices are lower. They should offer you the same “new user” prices ( currently $49.99 / month / 300 Mbps ).
Normally that price is locked in for a year, so you’ll need to call them up next year and repeat the process.
But it does work. I did that a few times in San Diego. I did some googling and saw that it works here as well. It’s pretty common as most of the internet providers have a “customer retention department”.
